The 4 Best Exercises For Fab Six Pack Abs
To get six pack abs, most of us rely on the good old sit-ups. Even the Army makes the cadets and soldiers go through the sit-up routine. Of late, however in many countries the Army is getting rid of the sit-ups as part of its physical fitness test. The reason is that while sit-ups are extremely popular, when it comes to getting fab six pack abs, they are pretty useless.
Below I would like to share 4 best exercises that if done properly and regularly, will help you get and keep an envious set of six pack abs.
And before you get down to doing these, let me also share that they have been taken from Vic’s 31 Day Fat Loss Program.
1. One-and-one Plank. Position yourself so that you are in a typical plank position, supporting yourself on the balls of your feet and forearms while keeping your back straight and consciously pulling your belly button toward your pelvis. Now extend your right arm in front of you and raise your left leg so that you are balanced on one arm and one leg. Hold for as long as possible, rest, and switch sides. When done rightly, you’ll feel your abs and these will surely help you expose your six packs abs, sooner than later.
2. Figure 8 Balance. Hold on to a medicine ball, loaded backpack, heavy book, or other heavy object with both hands. While standing on one leg, draw a wide figure-eight in front of your body. Repeat for 8 – 12 repetitions, rest, and then repeat while standing on the opposite leg. A great exercise for acquiring an envious set of six pack abs.
3. Inch Worm. From a kneeling position, with both knees side-by-side place both hands on the ground. Now slowly walk your hands forward, one inch at a time. Walk your hands forward as far as possible, trying to get your chest to the ground and your arms fully extended. Repeat for maximum repetitions. If this is too easy, try doing the movement from the toes instead of the knees. Ouch. Your abs will scream. And the set if six pack abs that you will display will be reward enough.
4. Overhead Lunge. Hold on to a medicine ball, loaded backpack, heavy book, or other heavy object with both hands. Starting with feet together and arms extended overhead, step forward with one leg into a lunge so that the rear knee just grazes the ground. Return the forward leg to the starting position and repeat with the other leg. Repeat for 8 – 12 repetitions each leg for 3 sets. Both your leg muscles and six pack abs will be a delight to watch!
If you’re used to doing crunches and situps to bring out your six pack abs, then some of these exercises might sound a little “weird”. But I highly suggest you add these to your workouts right away if you want those great looking six pack abs.
